Buchinger fasting in Menschels
How the first day of fasting begins and the fast is initiated.
At the start of fasting at Menschels Vitalresort, there is a conversation with one of our Vitalresort doctors
The medical examination takes around half an hour, during which we thoroughly examine you and discuss your health goals. After this detailed anamnesis, your individual vital plan is created: a therapy and prevention concept for your time and appropriate treatments with us — and beyond.
Colon cleansing
On the first day of fasting, you will receive Glauber's salt or F.X. passage salt as prescribed by a doctor. This cleanses the intestines and helps your body switch from “absorption” to “elimination,” the start of fasting.
Relax for a few hours, read, make yourself comfortable. It is better to avoid major efforts (such as sauna). Drink plenty of water to make up for fluid loss!
After the doctors have discussed the start of fasting with you, fasting checks are held at the doctor's office on Mondays, Wednesdays and Friday morning. Here, among other things, blood pressure and weight loss are monitored and you can get advice about your personal well-being.
During fasting days...
In the morning, there is freshly squeezed fruit juice, and at noon, a mild vegetable broth.
Fresh herbs and Hildegard spices are available for any seasoning.
After a lunch drink, we will bring a warm bag of hay flowers to your room. The hay flowers support the metabolism of the liver. After about half an hour, you can remove the bag yourself.
You should drink a lot throughout the day — water, herbal tea... In the fasting room, hot water is always available or you can bring a thermos to your room.
In the evening, after 18:00 you will be served freshly squeezed vegetable juice or vegetable broth. You should “spoon” almost “chew” both vegetable broth and fruit juices slowly and in sips so that the body can make good use of the valuable ingredients.
There are also various treatment appointments, such as massages and therapies, which were initially scheduled and have a wonderful supportive effect.
In between, take advantage of our exercise offers such as Qi-Gong, Aquafit and more!
Walking, or cycling regularly is important (at least 1 hour a day). Fasting talks and, on request, nutritional advice (for a fee) give you peace of mind.
Breaking the fast and construction days
The construction days are more important and more difficult than the actual fast. This transition should be carried out carefully and gradually. The fasting expert G.B. Shaw put it this way: “Any stupid person can fast, but only a wise man can break the fast correctly.” It is very important to spend the set-up period (approx. 3 days) in peace in order to stabilize treatment success.
Your body's transition from fasting to eating is slow, the organism must gradually regain its digestive power. Only then is your body able to digest a normal meal again. On the day of breaking the fast, you will be served a steamed apple after the lunch broth.
Dinner is also served as a further step back to “normal”: You enjoy your “base soup”, and from the first day of assembly, you will be back in the restaurant with the “eaters”.
